My Favourite Anime Characters

This page is currently under construction, but when finished, will show a list of my favourite anime characters from various series. I’ll probably then have a good rant about them in posts XD, lol.

Your patience is appreciated!

1. Vampire Knight

Ohhh where to start? In this anime in particular, I have a lot of characters that I really like, though oddly enough they aren’t the lead characters. It’ll take a few minutes to list them, but I think I’ll do rants in the future on just why I like them.

First off, there’s Aidou Hanabusa. Kyahh~! He’s definitely my ultimate fave in this anime – cute, obsessive, childish, yet hot all at the same time – I knew he’d be my favourite the moment I saw him.

Touya Rima comes in a close second, which is odd, mainly because I usually fangirl over all the male characters before looking to the female. It must be something in the way she looks and behaves that I can relate to – that definitely makes her special… :D

My third fave would have to be a tie with both Senri Shiki and Ichijou Takuma. Shiki-kun’s relationship with Rima-chan was what really sealed the deal for him in entering my favourites, but his attitude was what initially drew me to him – he’s so sweetly out of it! As for Takuma-kun, there’s no way he wouldn’t be one of my favourites – he’s just pure awesomeness, with such a charming personality.

2. D.Gray-man

I have one name that would always be first here… Tyki Mikk! He appears to be the embodiment of all I like in a slightly evil anime guy – sadistic, charming, seriously good looking, and despite all the evilness, a slightly awkward cheerful guy around his family and friends. His split personality and relationship with both Road-chan and the Earl of Millenium also makes him awesome.

The fact that he’s a Noah also led me to think of Road Kamelot as one of my favourite characters – again, odd as I’d usually fangirl the guys first. She’s so cheeky and innocent, yet at the same time mature and dark – a perfect combination in an ‘evil’ child, lol. The Earl is also pretty cool due to his completely random ‘weird uncle’ attitude, and I love the way he calls Tyki, “Tyki-pon.”

Of the exorcists I like Allen Walker and Lavi more or less equally, although Allen’s role as the main protagonist who’s suffered so much pain, both emotionally and physically, pushes him slightly ahead. Plus, the way he plays cards rocks! I’d love to be that good, lol. Lavi’s personality is what makes him stand out from the other unmentioned characters and earns him 5th place.

All-in-all, however, I have a strong fondness for all members of the Noah family, including the twins Jasdero and David, Skin Bolic and Lulu Bell.

3. Shugo Chara

First place in Hoshina Utau! Her stubborn, tsundere attitude and absolutely beautiful character design as well as the fact that she makes such a perfect antagonist for Amu-chan made me absolutely adore her. Also, while her Ikuto obsession may be weird due to the whole sibling-thing, this also adds to my love for her. Not only will she never succeed in her endeavors, but it makes her split personality all the more clear, as shown by her shugo charas Iru and Eru.

Second place is Ikuto, mainly because he’s the only male in the serious I can fawn over. His teasing and aloof attitude are brill, and I love his cat-like tendencies. Third is Hinamori Amu. Her “cool and spicy” outside character hiding her inner-shy character is something I can relate to, being rather shy myself, while also randomly bubbly etc.

As for the rest of the characters in the series, they’re all pretty cool, though Nadeshiko and Kukai stood out just that little bit more – so I’ll give Kukai fourth place and Nadeshiko fifth :D .

4. Nana

The characters of Nana are all brilliant, too brilliant perhaps to list them all – you see, I probably like them all equally, and the only one that stood out that little bit more was Shin. Guess that makes him first place. Shin’s sweet nature, sad background, and awesome musical skills make me love him to bits, but his relationships with Hachi and with Reira also adds to the flavour. He’s one of those characters I’d find it hard to dislike.

5. Ouran High School Host Club

Milord! Suoh Tamaki-sama! First place by far – he’s really what made this anime for me. The centre of all things, he not only created the Host Club, but is its heart and soul. Without him everyone would crumble. His princely attitude and complete idiocy is what makes him one of my most-loved comedy characters ever, while his separation from his mother is also really touching.

2nd place is ‘mom,’ also known as Ootori Kyoya. A complete contrast to “dad”/ Tamaki, it is the relationship and friendship between them that brings Kyoya up to such a high placing. For me I’d compare this to the friendship I had with Nez, and it may be that sentimentality that brought about this liking. Then again the potential shounen-ai could also be a draw ^^’.

Finally third place goes to Hitachiin Kaoru. The quieter and sweeter of the twins, I think he became my favourite due to the fact that he’s willing to give up almost anything for the sake of Hikaru’s happiness, even his slight feelings for Haruhi. Aww, Kaoru~

6. Lucky Star

Izumi Konata~ So similar to me there’s no way I wouldn’t adore her. The anime obsession, the love of manga and games, Konata’s also lost a parent and lives with just one who loves her enough for both. She lives the sort of life I aspire to have (mainly due to her access to anime and game goods I can only dream of :P ) but at the same time shares my personality and habits which has made her very dear to me. Yay Kona-chan!

7. La Corda d’Oro

Hihara Kazuki takes first place with pure bishounen charms (not that that’s too surprising, considering all male characters in this series are bishounen XD). Athletic, wonderfully awkward and friendly, Kazuki-kun is the ideal sort of character in my eyes for the lead to fall for. He has all the charms that I personally love, and while my love of guys like those in Vampire Knight and Tyki Mikk in D.Gray-man usually centres around the slightly more evil charm of the hot and ever-so-slightly sadistic, I have a strong love of guys like this too.

Joint second place is take by my next two favourites, Shimizu Keiichi and Tsukimori Len. Keiichi, eternally sleepy and perhaps the most beautiful of all the guys in the series, is highly endearing and the sort of character I’d love to hug and look after. Len on the other hand, is independent, rude, and absolutely brilliant – for some reason many of us feel that he’d make the best match for Hino, although Tsuchiura also has a strong following.
