Okay, well I was gonna jump straight to episode 14 seeing as I’m waaaay behind in my blogging, however I’ve changed my mind and decided to do super brief summaries of all the episodes in between just as this anime is currently one of my faves. So, yeah, here we go with the super posting! Let’s see how many episodes I can cover today – ikuze!

**********************************************************

~Brief Summary~

This episode is Black Star’s prologue and thus it focuses on him and his weapon Tsubaki. The episode begins with Black Star hiding in wait reading to attack Al Capone and his chums – Tsubaki’s weapon form is a chain scythe. With the whole “Law of the Assassin” number whatever going on, you get the false impression that the two of them are really serious characters – it’s pretty much a shock when he leaps down onto the table where Al Capone’s having his meal of souls, announcing his arrival by yelling at the top of his voice “I’m Black Star – I’m here to assassinate you!” Did he even pay attention to the rules he was spouting? XD Due to the sudden arrival both Black Star and Tsubaki get caught in a shower of gun fire and flee with a smoke bomb technique – definitely not completing their mission. We find out that Al Capone’s after a witch and then cut to a scene of the two protagonists outside, Black Star pretty proud of himself and Tsubaki looking rather depressed. Note that he refers to himself as “ore-sama” which means he’s kinda full of himself. On the other hand, Tsubaki’s one of those characters you’ve just gotta like, especially due the fact that she indulges his behaviour.

Back at Shibusen, our pair runs into our friends from the first episode, Maka and Soul – they each explain that things haven’t gone as planned – too right they haven’t =P. Black Star and Tsubaki then get called to Shinigami-sama’s room. Shinigami-sama says that he’s heard they failed in their mission, but Black Star remains confident that he’ll make Tsubaki his weapon and in the meantime presents Shinigami-sama with his autograph. Shinigami-sama knocks some sense into him =D.

He tells them that Al Capone is after a witch named Angela, and that it’ll be problematic if they get her power, although she apparently has a capable bodyguard. Black Star does the maths and realises that if they take care of the gang and the witch… Tsubaki would become a Death Scythe instantly. Excited he runs off before Shinigami -sama gets to explain the problem with the witch. ^^’ While Tsubaki tries to get Black Star to come up with a plan, Maka watches them from the window, saying that Tsubaki would do better with a different partner. Soul says that despite being rather stupid, Black Star’s got guts and that Tsubaki probably knows that.

Meanwhile Al Capone is outside the witch’s castle and there a man that looks like the bodyguard asks him why he’s there. Back with Black Star, he tries to prove to Tsubaki that they’re ready by hiding his presence and sneaking up on her… while she’s having a bath – whoops! Despite this they head off to the witch’s castle to find that all of Al Capone’s men. and the man himself, have been defeated and turned into souls. They’re then attacked by the bodyguard, Mifune. Black Star wants to fight and so – well this is a shounen anime – they do. Mifune seems to be a pretty good fighter, but with the smoke bomb technique Black Star seems to have the perfect chance of winning… until he announces his location by shouting again and falls down when hit by Mifune. Has he lost? Tsubaki seems to think so – until he gets up and complains that Mifune’s being cocky. ^^

Mifune calls Black Star a small fry and he gets annoyed claiming that Mifune’s trying to get all the attention. Black Star’s attitude completely changes at this point and he becomes totally serious – his presence seems different – it turns out to be Tsubaki in disguise and Black Star attacks Mifune from behind, winning. His reason? Because Mifun tried to stand out more – haha, what an attention seeker. About to deal the final blow, a chibi witch turns up and stops him with her special attack – hitting him on the head with a sword – ooo a fountain of blood! I think he was gonna be merciful – but at that point he gets ready to hit her with Tsubaki. This time he’s stopped by the relationship between Angela and Mifune and leaves with Tsubaki – aww!

They present the remaining souls to Shinigami-sama with the excuse that as they didn’t kill them they won’t have them – aww! It’s hard to tell but I think Shinigami-sama’s impressed/ happy/ shinigami-ish. Later Black Star tries to sneak into the women’s bath and the only problem that Tsubaki seems to have with that is that he didn’t mask his presence – lol!

~End of Summary~

~Viz’s Word on the Episode~

Well at first (if I’m honest) I kinda thought that Black Star was very much a Naruto clone with blue hair – he has that same sort of happy attitude, and a similar hair style as well as a carefree attitude – plus he’s a ninja too. But after watching the whole of the episode (and all the others thus far) I decided that his character definitely has its own charms and partnered with someone like Tsubaki, well, you’ve gotta be totally different to me to not love this pair. If you really don’t, well tough – they supposedly get as much attention as Maka and Soul, so you’re just gonna have to deal with it, right? =P

We got to see a lot more action this episode, and of course there’ll be a ton in the next too seeing as it’s the final prologue episode and we get to meet the final main team – Death the Kid! I’ve gotta say (even though I’m already way ahead) at this point I was already frantic about seeing the next episode – not only is Death the Kid voiced by one of the voice actors I’m totally crazy about (Mamoru Miyano) but his style and the random three stripes on his head rock, oh and that ring too – call me a total random crazy fan for picking up a small detail like that if you want.

Hopefully I’ll be posting the summary for episode three in a bit – look out for it!

It’s Nezzie’s Birthday Today! – Let’s Have Some Cake – No Sake ’til Next Year XD

(If Nez was an anime character I could totally see her looking like this – Mimi Usa!)

**********************************************************

Sadly by the time I post this it’ll probably be after 12 and so it may say the 9th July on the post – Nez’s birthday is the 8th people – the 8th! – remember that, ‘kay?

So yeah, this is a really short and random post just to bookmark the fact that Nez turned 17 today. Kaz has to wait until August and will most likely be in Poland, so the chances that we’ll see her on her birthday are slime -_-. As for Nez, I wasn’t well again today so I wasn’t able to give her the prezzie and card (which I’d spent probably an hour doodling in the night before). I’ll be in school tomorrow (weds) and so she’ll get it then. Is it a suprise? Um, no, not really – you see I kinda told her what she was getting on Monday just to be sure that she definitely didn’t have said items.

Wanna know? Sure, I don’t mind sharing ^^. I got her the first two volumes of Lovely Complex (Love Com) and a skin for her Nintendo DS – yeah maybe not a great present, but you know what it’s like as you get older, you begin to run out of ideas of what the person would like – for Kaz and Nez’s 18th I’ll totally try and spoil them though XD.

That said I’ll be 18 real soon now O.O. Being born in October, it’s only just over 3 months away – nooo I don’t wanna be a legal, voting, adult ~~ it means… I dunno, that I’ll be old T-T… Does anyone else hate that feeling of getting older, or is it just me?

Anyways, join me in wishing Nez a happy 17th and feel free to post birthday wishes as comments even though you don’t really know her lol.

Tut Tut Tut – Apologies and a Ramble…

**********************************************************

It’s been ages since I last wrote anything for my little blog, and that’s really rather depressing since I had a whole master plan going on with great series to blog which had just come out at the time, and which I was reasonably well on schedule with. Now, alas, it seems I’m weeks, if not months, behind and probably won’t succeed in catching up. So for anyone who actually uses this blog, or likes to follow my posts in general, I’ll start of with the main aim of this post – an apology – so, I’m sorry. *bows head*

So I’m sure you’re wondering where I’ve been, or at the very least the reason for the downfall in my scheme – some of you may actually have been looking forward to coverage of the latest Pokemon episodes, or summaries of Soul Eater and Vampire Knight – maybe even some screenshots – so for those of you the sudden end in posts would have been a little bit disappointing, if not a little surprising, seeing as I had actually been doing quite well with my posting.

**********************************************************

So why? Well, lucky Viz’s appendix decided that time was ripe for a little fun. What fun, you ask? Why appendicitis fun naturally! And boy, it sure hurt ¬.¬. Stupid appendix. Seeing as I’ve been wanting to complain about it for a while, especially since it’s still affecting me now, and perhaps give a little warning for those of you who still have that little time-bomb of a pointlessness and may yet share this experience at a later date (though it would be pretty nice if it did nothing, right?)

So, about 8 weeks or so ago, I had horrible pains in the “abdominal area” – or put simply, a horrible tummy ache =P – and being a member of the female population, I merely assumed that it was ‘that time of the month again,’ which it was in fact. I came home after a day of agony in school – not only had I barely revised for the exams, but I had cramps throughout – you can bet I was pretty relieved it was Friday. There was only one problem – it really hurt! Now, I’m no stranger to pain around that time, but I’m one of those unfortunate people who most pain killers don’t seem to work on, so it means I sometimes find myeself unwilling to do things – i.e. work. So after coming back, I called my mum to ask if I could not go to my guitar lesson as the pain was quite serious, and by this time I was pretty tired too. She said okay, and I went to have a bath – if painkillers don’t work for you when it comes to anything, take a hot bath, it really does help – and that day was over, I felt better and thought nothing more of it.

**********************************************************

Next day was cool, I was sleepy and sat down on my bed, playing one of my fave games, Okami, for perhaps the fourth time? Later I got a text from Kaz, who wanted to come over, and though I was a little tired (not to mention lazy ^^’) I said okay, and we grabbed Nez and spent the day playing Lord of the Rings PS2 game, if I remember rightly. It’s sort of our mission to get through one of the games. We had problems with the first one, but in the second game, which also seems more fun, we take turns to play as each of the three characters and, believe it or not, Nez (as Gimli) seems to be the best player. Kaz plays as Legolas and I’ve stolen Aragorn (woohoo!). So later on, my tummy started acting up again and the cramps returned – of course you don’t really wanna complain when you have your friends over, so I just laughed and bore it until it was time for them to go home (sadly we all live quite far apart, despite going to the same school).

**********************************************************

The pain this time was beyond anything I had ever experienced, and even the bath method, which had always worked in the past, failed me. Prepare yourselves to be shocked. Viz, the vampire like person, the one who stays up most of the night readily and shuns the thought of an early night, did just that. I had an early night. 0.0 Yeah, it was that bad. Rather depressing too.

I kept waking up during the night ’cause of the pain, and I had to sleep on my left side, as it seemed more comfortable. Needless to say it hadn’t diminished by morning. At this point I already had an inkling that all the pain may actually be more than simply “that time of the month” pain, but in fact an unhappy appendix. See, a few years ago when I was about 8 or 9, my mum had also had the same exact problem, when her pains turned out to be a burst appendix, and believe me it was rather scary to be told by your dad that, ‘you know, mummy might die.’ O.O! Perhaps not the best way to tell an 8 year old something like that. Thank god she was fine, the incident leaving her only with a large scar.

So with this knowledge, I decided to try the bath excuse one last time – denial is a wondrous thing, no? – before conceding defeat and telling my mum that I had pains on the right side of my lower stomach and that it was more painful than usual. She got the message straight away, and before I knew it we were on the way to the hospital – oh joy. At this point walking was rather painful, so my speed when we got out of the car was nothing to boast about, but in the end we reached the hospital, and went to the action and emergency desk (A&E). After describing symptoms and saying what we thought was wrong, we were told to sit down and wait – somehow you’d hope they’d see you right away, but that’s not the case in merry old england – it was horrible sitting there and listening to this woman chatting to a two year old in a high pitched and annoyingly happy loud voice – you know, the type you really wanna slap.

After what felt like ages (mainly because it really was =P) a nurse called out my name and we went to see her in her tiny little office. Once again we told her the problem, this time prompted by her questions, and after giving me a little container – yes, for a urine sample – she said that a doctor would call us soon. So we went out and sat in the waiting room again, and once more it was ages before the doctor made his appearance. When he finally did, we followed him down a corridor to a ward of some sort, and then after question once more, he said that someone would come to take a blood sample in a few – you can imagine my excitement – I just hate needles.

**********************************************************

Later – yes, they made us wait quite a bit again – a random guy came and after spending a long time finding a vein on my arm – my veins are the sort that flee at the sight of something pointy and become invisible, brilliant defence mechanism, no? – he put one of these needle things that is left in for a while, and can be used to take blood, inject stuff, and ultimately for drips, by opening and closing part of it to let the flow in or out. I’m not entirely sure if he did actually take a blood sample, but it was pretty clear at that point that I wouldn’t be going home that day – the needle thing was pink, in case you’re interested. They then gave me painkillers – I’m not great at swallowing large tablets, so that was a lot of fun too – and said I wasn’t allowed to eat or drink anything, except the water they provided to help swallow the tablets. I wasn’t much fussed as I hadn’t eaten anything since the evening of the day before, and to be quite honest it was the last thing on my mind.

Some more waiting time, and a nurse came and moved me to one of the beds. She gave me one of the patient outfits, with the words “for hospital use only” covering every inch of it – honestly, who’d want to where that thing anywhere else? – and said I could lie down for a bit, and later that they’d be coming for me soon. Surprisingly, at this point I wasn’t nervous – the painkillers had started to work, and as my mum was still with me, I felt rather safe – the only feeling I had was embarrassment when they did come for me, as they brought a wheelchair to wheel me up – I honestly didn’t think it was that big a deal, I could still walk.

So they took me up to this ward quite a while away. It was reasonably okay, not one of those gigantic ones with endless lines of beds you see in those random films on tv, but with only 4 beds, each with its own super soft chair beside it, and the curtain things around each were flowery. Luckily for me, mine was the one next to the windows furthest from the door, and nearest the clock, which meant I was fully aware of the time – I have this thing about needing to know what time it is.

**********************************************************

My mum went home not long after she knew where I’d be in the hospital, so that she could go collect some things for me, such as a book or two, my ipod and mobile phone and of course some clothes. I was glad I had the foresight to bring a book with me, as it was quite lonely there, the other patients being older women, and not the sort that would willingly talk to someone my age. She came back later and left at about 8, the end time for visiting. Let me stress again that it was really lonely there. Ah, and I forgot to mention that I was put on a drip. At one point I remember the consultant/ doctor person came round, and was quite happy to know that I hadn’t eaten anything that day and very little the night before – that made me rather nervous and suspicious. He also explained the surgery that would take place to have a looksee at my appendix – something about putting a camera through my belly-button and two other incisions. When he asked if I had any questions, I said no, simply ’cause I couldn’t wrap my mind round the idea. He then said that they’d see if they could get me in for surgery that evening.

“Ah, okay… wait a minute! What?!” I didn’t say it, but that’s the thought I had at that minute – before I had been complaining that they were rather slow and had made us wait a long time, and now, all of a sudden I was facing the idea of surgery that very day. I’ll admit I was terrified, but somehow I clung to the hope that they wouldn’t find time for me, and instead I’d have it done the following morning. That kept me going until the nurse came just before 11 in the evening and said that I’d be having surgery and that they’d be coming soon – O.O – she got me to sign a form, which I think said that I don’t hold the hospital responsible if they accidentally kill me or something and that’s what really got me thinking “hey, I’m signing my life away.” Needless to say, I sent my mum a message about what was going to happen, and once more just before they wheeled the bed away.

**********************************************************

Now I’m actually not ashamed to admit I got a little jittery at this point and my eyes watered for a few minutes even though I knew it was a standard operation, I’m sure you can see why I was a little scared. But the nurse walking with the guy pushing, said that it would be done and over before I knew it and that there was nothing to worry about – she was a nice person. Soon I was in that room they have before they take you to the main one for the actual surgery. The surgeon was a nice guy, and distracted me by asking questions about school and whatnot, and soon they sent me to sleep – first some oxygen for a minute or two and then the actual gas – you’re literally out like a light.

When I woke up, I initially had the impression of being somewhere else, but as I didn’t feel sore I drifted off within seconds and the next time I woke up I was back in the ward. Now, the first night is pretty unpleasant, especially if you have a slightly more serious case as I did (apparently the moment they touched it to try and remove it, the appendix burst – that and I had some sorta abscess) as they make sure to wake you up every hour or so to take a reading of your pulse, and temperature etc – not too much fun.

The next day I felt the pain – it’s pretty icky to be stuck on a bed, pretty much unable to move, and listening to the moans and complaints of the lady opposite who didn’t speak a word of English. I’m not gonna linger on this part – it’s boring even when I think of it now – I spent much of the time reading or drifting in and out of sleep. I was glad of my mum’s company during visiting time and the smell of the hospital food -heh heh – made me feel nauseous.

Another night of random checks and the lady opposite kept me up most of the night due to the complains and groans – I know she was probably in a whole lot of pain, but so was I, and so were probably the other two ladies there, but I do wish she could have let us sleep. The next day I was sleep deprived and desparate to leave – after begging my mum, she had a word with the nurses and convinced them to let me out before lunch – they’d wanted to keep me until afterwards. Point of interest – they pump some sorta gas into the stomach to help when the operate. This means that I had a swollen belly for a good six weeks afterwards – not nice -_-.

**********************************************************

I was given a few weeks off and it’s embarrassing to say that going up the stairs was a struggle – it was a rather boring time, painful, and the antibiotics made me feel sick. Ahh~ fun! It was during this time that I watched the dub of Tokyo Mew Mew on tv, but no ‘real’ anime as the trek to the computer and sitting in front was simply out of the question.

Now about 8 or 9 weeks later I’m still suffering from the effects – headaches – some random pains in the abdominal area – and just generally being weak. Oh and of course three very lovely scars. ^^’ Needless to say this year, combined with all the other illnesses I’ve had and the side effects of the operation now, I’ve missed more school than I have in the rest of my years at school put together.

So that brings us up to today pretty much seeing as it’s almost a never ending story, and I hope you now understand why I abandoned my cute little blog. For those of you who follow my summaries and whatnot, please don’t worry, I’m more than willing to get back on track, especially as summer’s coming and my plans consist simply of – CAS (IB students will know what I mean by that) in the form of swimming, web design, guitar lessons – catching up and revising all I missed – and anime! ~Awesome~

I’ll hopefully be bringing a summary of Soul Eater 14 real soon now seeing as I’ve already watched it, so look forward to it!

Welcome back to Viz XD lol.

Pokemon Diamond & Pearl – Episode 75

**********************************************************

Animation: 10/10
Story in this episode: 9/ 10
Overall Rating: 9.5/ 10

**********************************************************

I’ve been planning on making my summaries shorter now, it simply takes too much effort (unless it’s a raw that’s not being subbed and I feel I should try to shed some enlightenment). When it comes to Pokemon, the episodes are so simple that I doubt few people can’t understand the gist of what’s going on. As usual I’ll give a summary, but this time it really will be a short one!

So, Hikari finds out that contest master Mikuri (the guy you battle for the 8th badge in Ruby and Sapphire, and the champion in Emerald) is in the area and, excited, goes to train with her Pokemon. Meanwhile Satoshi is also training for his next gym match, this time against a water trainer – he’s therefore decided to use Naetle and Pikachu, and with Gliger’s persuasion, Gliger too ^^. Hikari gets her team to perform some pretty cool moves, using more and more power, but then, remembering Nozomi’s words, becomes down heartened (remember when she got Eteboth to use a high powered swift in her last contest and failed to make it past the first round).

Satoshi and Takeshi try to cheer her up after she gets fried from jumping into the attacks, and then a reporter comes along. She tells them that Mikuri is nearby and Hikari gets even more excited, coming our of her depression speedily. Satoshi and Takeshi on the other hand are clueless as to who he is. They go looking and soon come across a Milokaross in a lake/ river and then meet Mikuri.

They have a nice conversation, where he explains that he’s there to get a break from all the interviews and fans and after showing him a battle between Satoshi’s Buoysel and Hikari’s Pochama, he invites them to participate in a contest he’s planning. It’s at this point that Musashi turns up in her Idol guise and her Habunake dressed up to look a bit like a Milokaross – Mikuri’s totally bemused XD.

He then gives them a performance of his own with his Milokaross and believe me, it’s really beautiful. Finally he says farewell and departs suddenly, “As expected from the contest master…” Musashi sneers at the idea of Hikari entering the contest and leaves. Later that evening at the Pokemon Centre they watch the news where Mikuri is announcing the upcoming contest in an interview – Hikari still looks a little unsure.

We have a final scene of another Pokemon center where a Nurse Joy is telling a very familiar someone about Satoshi and comapny. It’s Haruka! As shown in the episode preview, it seems she’s turning up for the contest – reminds me of when Kasumi turned up for the Mirage Kingdom special. Should be fun to watch!

~ Viz’s word on the episode ~

Well I definitely liked this episode, perhaps for reasons unknown to me. For one thing I felt so nostalgic seeing Mikuri that I started to laugh hysterically at every slightly funny thing that happened in the episode – the sapphire and ruby games were really good – and it was nice to have a Hikari focused episode. Another great thing was the contest moves – whenever we have a contest themed episode we always get to see some pretty animation, and this episode didn’t disappoint. The combination of all of Hikari’s Pokemon’s moves was really cool, though I’m starting to feel like Pochama’s whirlpool and Eteboth’s swift attacks are overused, and then we had Milokaross’ performance. That was so sparkly it made me feel kinda like a hippie afterwards and I had a sudden urge to colour stuff.

Then of course we had the humour aspect. I was so glad to see that reporter and her random team again (sadly her name slips my mind) and all the times she got hit on the head ’cause her mic dude couldn’t hold the mic up made me giggle. Finally when they don’t capture Mikuri’s performance on film I was in hysterics – nothing goes right for that woman! Ah, and it didn’t help when Musashi came out with Habunake dressed up as Milokaross – if I could have died from laughter it would have been right then and there. Roketto Dan are the best!

Overall I may have simply loved this episode ’cause I was high on air molecules, but I’d still recommend it, even with hindsight now – it was a good watch, a little different from the norm and we got to see a few characters we either haven’t seen in a while, or not at all before this point. Take a look at my grading system above (I was so enthralled I may have been overly generous) and make sure to join me again for Haruka’s return in the next episode! (Having already watched it I can safely say it was another good one ^^).

Soul Eater – Episode 01

**********************************************************

Animation: 10/ 10 (the best I’ve seen in a long time!)
Story in this episode
: 10/ 10 (funny, interesting and unique)
Humour: 10/10 (one word for it – LOL)
Character Designs: 9.5/ 10 (it’ll take a while to get used to the style, but they rock!)
Concept: 10/10 (can’t explain why, but I love it)
Overall Rating: 10/ 10

**********************************************************

So apparently these first three episodes are the prologue; in that case I’ll be quick with each of them and only start to really write when we get to the fourth episode, where the real story will begin! In each of the prologue episodes we’re to meet one of the meisters and their weapon partner – the first episode? Well of course we’re gonna meet the main team – Maka and Soul. Let’s have a super quick summary of what happens:

We start the episode with an explanation of what Shibusen is and what the people who go there do – they enforce peace and prevent the rebirth of kishin – a happy chap pops up and summarises the serious ramble in a few short words and invites us to follow the story – it’s shinigami-sama!

The opening theme is so catchy! I was singing along first time round, or at least mumbling something along to the tune – we get to see all of the main characters, and some of them even dance along to the music, like Shinigami-sama – look at those hands! Some other characters also do the same, including an interesting looking something or other – as soon as I can I’ll be finding out where to get this song!

A few screebshots to prove how wonderful it is, and then we’ll carry on!

**********************************************************

Opening Theme – Resonance – T.M.revolution

**********************************************************

So – a lady walking along the street is attacked by a beasty-human thing – it’s definitely weird in any case – and her soul is released. The thing eats it and then chases a second woman who saw the scene. He has her trapped when two people appear, diverting his attention – Soul and Maka. The woman escapes. Soul says that the things soul is no longer human and more like the egg of a kishin.

Soul shows that he is in fact a weapon that also happens to have a human form and becomes a sythe which Maka catches. Maka tells the thing – which is in fact Jack the Ripper (wow, they have great imaginations to come up with something like that) – that she’s here to take his soul and thus… the fight begins!

Now I’m not gonna describe it, you’ll have to see it to know how great it is, but it really is worth it – the animation is clean and fast, with great camera movements and angles which make you feel like you’re there watching. It even succeeds in creating a slightly disorientated feeling a few times, which is totally realistic. Maka beats Jack and his body transforms into a red soul – apparently this will be their 99th. interestingly, Soul eats the soul XD. That sounds odd to say, but it’s true. Seems as though that was their mission.

Maka comments that they’ve now collected 99 pre-kishin souls and Soul says that there’s only the witch’s soul to go. By getting that he could become the Death Scythe of Shinigami-sama, and of course his coolness level would go up – lol. Maka then reports to Shinigami-sama, using a window and writing a number 42-42-564 – which allows them to communicate. Haha, Shinigami-sama is really funny and random, and it’s at this point that we meet Maka’s dad, who seems to really love her, though the affection is pretty much one sided – he also reprimands Soul for not thinking that Maka’s attractive before saying that he loves her – “I don’t think of you as my father.” He then sulks.

Shinigami-sama talks about how difficult it is to get the final soul, that of the witch, and says that many have died in battle with the witches. He tells Maka to be careful and to make a great Death Scythe and finally to clarify things stresses that the last soul is that of a witch – if they get it wrong they’ll be stripped of all their souls up to this point and have to start again. That’s kinda harsh ^^’. He says farewell to them and turns to Maka’s dad who’s still crying – he gives him a chop with one of those great hands of his – I bet that’s painful!

Maka and Soul are outside the pumpkin house of the Blair Witch, who at that moment in time is having a bath – Soul ignores Maka’s pleas for a plan and charges in through the window, falling into the bath with Blair and at the sight of her being naked has a nosebleed. Despite this he claims that a cool guy like him is used to the sight of naked women (yeah right =P). Maka then jumps in and gives him a super kick for being such an idiot XD.

Sadly they’re defeated the first time round. They come back and try again, and again – it’s only on the fourth night that they get down to an actual fight. It’s then that Maka and Soul start passing the blame and start to bicker. Maka keeps talking about Soul having nosebleeds and jumping in on Blair when she was having a bath purposefully, while he defends himself; “how can women say such illogical things with complete confidence?!” “Women’s intuition.” Haha, brilliant! Blair then tells Soul that he should just belong to her if he and Maka are gonna fight all the time – Maka doesn’t like that =P. Blair then says that she’ll kill Maka and take Soul with her – two girls fighting over a guy, he should be like soo grateful – guess it helps when you can become a weapon though – as a girl it would be totally useful, like protection! They then start to fight.

Later Maka asks Soul what to do – nothing seems to be working – and he doesn’t respond. Instead he considers what Blair said earlier and grins.

Soul finally responds to Maka’s questions while she hangs on he edge of a roof – he says he doesn’t care any more and reverting to his human form lets her drop. He wants to be Blair’s scythe – O.o hmmm well, when this happened I was a little disappointed, it kind of made me blink even though I knew that it had to be a temporary thing at most (Maka and Soul are a team after all). Maka claims that Blair must have used magic to trick him, but he says that anyone would go for an older girl with a nice body rather than a flat-chested, um, her. Poor Maka – we then see how her father used to flirt with other women while she was spying on him and she asks Soul what the logic is behind a guy’s cheating. Shinigami-sama and Death Scythe are watching all this through their magic screen thing by the way, and Death Scythe is all for Soul leaving his precious Maka.

This scene was definitely emotional – the music and Maka’s obvious distress really got to me, so I was doubly happy when Soul said “I wouldn’t know that,” before transforming his arm and adding “’cause cool men don’t cheat.” Heheh, I was boogieing round the room at this point. Getting back into gear the two of them defeat Blair and Soul eats her soul. Maka smiles and thanks Soul mentally – aww. Soul starts to glow – oo he’s gonna become a Death Scythe! Lightning – the power! – the power! – isn’t there- eh? Soul and Maka are both confused, and so was I until we see a little kitty wearing Blair’s hat march onto the scene. Uh-oh.

As Blair quite rightly says, she never said she was a witch, they did – every thing’s a little omg XD. Apparently Blair’s just a cat with strong magical abilities… ^^’. The watching Shinigami-sama, who had commented earlier that “that witch is a little strange,” now adds, “ouch, I knew it,” before pummeling Death Scythe for another inappropriate comment. More importantly – Soul’s just eaten a cat’s soul! That means they have to start over again! HAHA! (Ah, I’m so cruel, I shouldn’t laugh).

Maka and Soul head back, being followed by Blair – remember cat’s have nine lives, so she’s still got another few to fall back on. She asks Soul again to be hers while Maka tells her to stop following them. Soul: “this isn’t cool.”

We now cut to a scene introducing Black Star and his weapon Tsubaki – apparently he has a problem though.. you’re gonna have to watch the next episode to find out what though!

Now we have the ending credits, and yeah the song was really good here too – it starts off quietly and then catches you off guard by exploding in sound – the images were also really good – some screenshots and now it’s the

Ending Theme – I wanna be – Stance Punks

Shinigami-sama tells us at the end that every episode will be like this – filled with action, gags and suprises and some fanservice – I guess that’s a good thing for guys out there ^^’. Anyways, I thought this episode was brilliant! We were introduced to some interesting and totally funny characters, that I’m sure will soon be well known everywhere if the standards continue like this.

Battle scenes were well drawn and animated, and as I said earlier you get a feel of being there ’cause of the camera movements and stuff. Character designs are pretty good, and somehow make me think of Naruto, although from having researched the manga a little, I think I prefer that style ever so slightly more – either way, it usually works like that for me.

The story line is definitley an interesting one, and I’ll be watching this if only for the random humour inserted to spice things up – that’s it for the first part of three prologues – join me for Black Star’s and Death the Kid’s soon!

see you!
